In The Faithful, the artist invites us on a sensory and reflective journey through Northern Spain, where the ecclesiastical architecture of past centuries still shapes both the landscape and the spirit. This work is not merely a visual record, but a profound exercise in historical empathy.

By immersing itself in the atmosphere of bygone eras, the painting explores the omnipresence of the Church in daily life and the complex dynamic between the collective and the individual. Through brushstrokes that evoke the passage of time, we are confronted with the image of a crowd following established leadership—a representation of cohesion and, at times, of conformity. However, upon closer inspection, flickers of resistance emerge: the solitary path of those who, driven by their own will, seek singular ways outside the routes traced by tradition.

More than offering answers, the work acts as a mirror of intentions. The artist chooses to silence his own conclusions, leaving space for the viewer to navigate between the light and shadow of the canvas, finding their own truth at the intersection of faith, history, and human autonomy.

Em Os Fiéis, o artista nos convida a uma jornada sensorial e reflexiva pelo norte da Espanha, onde a arquitetura eclesiástica de séculos passados ainda molda tanto a paisagem quanto o espírito. Esta obra não é meramente um registro visual, mas um profundo exercício de empatia histórica.

Ao mergulhar na atmosfera de eras passadas, a pintura explora a onipresença da Igreja na vida cotidiana e a complexa dinâmica entre o coletivo e o indivíduo. Por meio de pinceladas que evocam a passagem do tempo, somos confrontados com a imagem de uma multidão que segue lideranças estabelecidas — uma representação de coesão e, por vezes, de conformismo. Contudo, em um olhar mais atento, surgem lampejos de resistência: o percurso solitário daqueles que, movidos por sua própria vontade, buscam caminhos singulares fora das rotas traçadas pela tradição.

Mais do que oferecer respostas, a obra atua como um espelho de intenções. O artista opta por silenciar suas próprias conclusões, deixando espaço para que o espectador navegue entre a luz e a sombra da tela, encontrando sua própria verdade na intersecção entre a fé, a história e a autonomia humana.
